God Continues to Work in Many Lives
This past weekend, October 27th
and 28th, we met in a hotel for two
long days — from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
They invited a Deaf national lady na-
tional who presently lives in the
United States, to come and help “co-
teach” the truths of God’s Word.
There were 27 Deaf women who at-
tended either Saturday or Sunday. The
topics ranged from dating to mar-
riage, purity to those who had made
bad choices as young women, wit-
nessing, holiness, discipling children
to discipline in their own lives, and
many emotional issues that women
face.
At the beginning a Bible story was
told in drama form then the discus-
sion began… (1) how God was inter-
twined in this person’s life (2) their
feelings about the story and (3) how
to apply the story so there would be a
change in their lives.
Ladies came forward one by one to
talk about issues they faced—abuse,
rejection, loneliness, fear, anger and
guilt. Two Christian women (“enemies”
with each other for years) confessed
their sin and made right. Another lady
struggling with her self image realized
that in Christ she is beautiful.
On Sunday morning we met to-
gether and you could sense the Holy
Spirit was working. About 10 o’clock
the electricity went out and this hap-
pened 4 times. Imagine you are Deaf
and in a room of total darkness?
There were no windows… so, we
opened the door to the hall and be-
gan singing. Each time the lights
went out we sang and praised God.
This weekend made a spiritual differ-
ence in the hearts of many Deaf
women.
Singing
to the
Lord!
While we were meeting together,
the “mother church” in Murillo was
meeting for its regular weekly ser-
vice. Guillermo taught from Ephe-
sians 6 — “The Armor of God”. Dur-
ing the invitation three men came
forward for salvation (Kevin, Juan
and Alberto) and five others for re-
dedication. This weekend was truly
one where we saw God changing and
transforming many lives. Pray for
these Deaf men and women to stand
strong for the Lord daily.
